Note on Husband: Stephen Frederick BRUTON
The details surrounding his marriage(s) and the children involved, needs more research as dates and surnames don't appear to match up. Caroline Walsh (possibly nee Leary) seems to have children with the surname of 'Walsh' both before and after the Bruton children. Stephen also seems to have had 4 of these Bruton children before his marriage to Caroline.
In 1851 he was living at 5 Gays Court, Temple, Bristol with his mother (a widow) and his youngest sister Hester, He was 5 years old and a Scholar.
In 1861 he was living at 30 Tower Street, Temple, Bristol with his mother (a widow) and sister Sarah. He was 15 years old, unmarried and a Labourer in a Stoneware Pottery. Also living with them as a lodger was Anne Bristow, aged 20 and unmarried, a Stay Maker from St. Phillips, Bristol.
In 1881 he was living at 51 Bellevue Crescent, Clifton, Bristol with his wife, 2 daughters, a son and a step-son. He was 36 years old and a Porter at Glass Works. His step-son was John H.Walsh, a 9 year old School from Newport, Monmouthshire.
In 1891 he was living (in a flat) at 5 Belle View Terrace, Clifton, Bristol with his wife, step-son John Bruton (previously John Walsh), and 2 sons Stephen and Frederick. He was 46 years old and a Labourer. The other occupants of the house were Lucy Haggett and single retired Dressmaker and the family of Edwin Bond aged 37, a Coachman from Loddisham, Devon.
